1) For efficient utilization of a nation’s resources, development plans are necessary. India is rich in natural resources but it needs to be perfectly utilised with best infra structure facilities
2) For instance, in India Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, are rich in mineral deposits but lack in basic developmental plans like proper water resources, transport network etc in order to make these resources fully available to people
3) Rajasthan is well equipped with wind and solar energy but it is deficient in water to tap these resources.
4) To tap the available resources in a useful way, India has formulated resource planning and development process which involves various steps like identifying the resources available in each region of the country, making a perfect plan with available technology, skill etc
5) In order to achieve resource planning fully, India has introduced Five year plans which aim to achieve fixed target in every sector every year
6) Future plans like solar energy power plants, electricity plants from wind mills at cheaper costs with necessary infrastructure required for implementing the same etc have been planned by the government in the issue of resource development schemes in India
