Question

does sound can travell in a piece of wood which is placed in a vacum condition?

Open in App
Solution

Sound is produced when any object or the particle or the molecule vibrates. Therefore, it is defined as the disturbance that propagates through any elastic medium such as air, ground, or water. So, sound can travel through any medium but it cannot propagate in vacuum.

Thus, if a piece of wood is kept in vacuum then sound can travel through the wood but do not travel outside the wood which is vacuum.
