Solution

The blockage of internal vascular tissue particularly xylem leads to the wilting of plant. Xylem is the carrier of food and minerals from the roots to the leaves and the blockage of this transport does not result in adequate water and nutrients to the stems and leaves, decreasing photosynthesis and hence wilting.
