Solution

When a beam of light enters a room, the dust particles can be seen moving in a haphazard manner due to tyndall effect. Tyndall effect is the phenomenon of scattering of light by the particles of colloid because of which the path of light is illuminated. The tiny particles scatter the beam of light and make its path visible. Thus the dust particles scatter light because of which they can be seen moving randomly.
