Open in App
Solution

The geographic poles are places on earth's surface where Earth's imaginary spin axis passes through. The needle in a compass always points towards the magnetic North pole.

The earth's magnetic poles and geographic poles are not same as the earth's magnetic field is tilted. If we assume earth's magnetic field to be a bar magnet, then it will make an angle of 11 degrees with Earth's spin axis.
