Our Constitution is framed drawing heavily on the inspiration of freedom fighters and statesmen like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. The freedom struggle and its associated movements have inspired the framers of our constitution and the preamble of our Constitution guarantees justice, equality, liberty and fraternity to all Indians. It proclaims India to be a Socialist Democratic Republic. Drawing from Gandhiji's writings in Young India and the dream given to the nation by the first Prime Minister at the wake of Independence, the Constitution of India was framed.
