Open in App
Solution

Every organic compound is made up of chains of carbon atoms having functional groups. A number of compounds containing similar functional groups are called a homologous series. All the members of a homologous series are similar in structure and characteristics.

The only way by which members of a homologous series differ is in their molecular formula by a CH2 group.
