It is said that due to the gravitational force of the moon we can see tidal waves on the ocean. Then why dont the river creates tidal waves with the help of gravitational force ?

It is true that the tidal waves are formed due to the gravitational pull of the moon. Tidal waves are formed in oceans because it has huge body of water which is free to move all over the earth but rivers do not cover enough area to have their water be moved significantly by gravity.
