Why democracy is considered as best form of government ?

Democracy is considered the best form of government because it provides the citizens of a stste with several rights, such as right of expressions, right of shelter. Democracy directly gives the political power into the hands of the mass, through the voting right, whereby the mass can select their own representatives. It also provides with the equality of all, irrespective of their caste, creed, gender or race. Democracy also provides its citizens with the right to check the powers exercised by a government through the option of dissolving the government because of dissatisfaction with its performance.
