why dont humans have rumination in our digestive system ?
Rumination may be defined as a chewing activity which enables the ruminant to obtain the energy from the fibers. This process is commonly observed in various herbivores animals such as cow, goats etc.
As the humans obtain their food from the sources other than the fibers such as glycogen, they do not need this chewing activity to obtain the energy. Therefore, they do not have rumination in their digestive system.
