Following developments took place in Russia after the Russian Revolution:
1. Many industries and banks were nationalised. Private property was totally opposed. The ownership and management of all banks and industries were taken by the government.
2. Lad was declared as a public property . Hence, peasants were allowed to seize the land of the nobles.
3. In cities, Bolsheviks partitioned large houses according to family requirements. No one was allowed to keep large houses unnecessarily.
4. The use of old titles of aristocracy were banned. New uniforms were designed for the army and officials.
5. The Bolshevik party was renamed as the Russian Communist Party. It disfavoured war and so made peace with German by signing an agreement in Brest Litovsk in 1918.
6.In the later years the Bolshevik was the only party to participate in the elections to the All Russian Congress of Soviets which became the Parliament of Russia. A new development took place where Russia became a one party state. Trade unions were kept under party control.
7. Those who criticised the Bolsheviks were punished. The party encouraged censorship.
8. A centralised planning system was established. Five Year Plans were set up. During the firs two years of planning, government fixed the prices of commodities for industrial growth.
