Question

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 3 LAW OF MOTION & FRICTIONAL FORCE? THE FRICTIONAL FORCE IS ALSO A FORCE DAT OPPOSES DE MOTION IN THE OPP DIRECTON

Open in App
Solution

The reaction force due to 3rd law of motion is not frictional force because of the following reasons.

  1. Reaction force do not oppose the motion of the body it merely keeps the body in either static or dynamic equilibrium.
  2. Reaction force may or may not be a contact force, frictional force is always a contact force.
  3. Reaction force does not depend upon the material nature of the body frictional force depends upon the nature of the body in motion and on the surface on which it mis moving.
  4. Reaction force is equal and opposite to the impressed force, frictional force is directly proportional to the normal reaction.
  5. A single force cannot exist in nature, it always exists in pair, thus a reaction force is always there. A force can be present without being interfered by frictional force.
