Question

what is wisdom tooth

Open in App
Solution

Wisdom teeth are the third molars, which usually appear at about the age of twenty. The wisdom teeth are the last to come through, right at the back. There is no difference and they are just as useful as any other tooth if they grow in properly with a healthy gum tissue around them. Often, wisdom teeth don’t grow in properly. If there is not enough space in the jaw, the wisdom tooth may try to come through, but will get stuck against the tooth in front of it. That is why, they are mostly extracted. Since it is considered that around 20 years of age, people become wiser and hence, third molars are known as "wisdom teeth."
