Solution

Answer :

We can form a equation with the given information , As :

Let Mohan buy total cotton cloth = x m
And
Mohan buy total silk cloth = y m

So , we get equation from given condition ( the cost of cotton cloth is rs 50 per m and cost of silk cloth is 100 per m . mohan has rs 1390. )

50x + 100y = 1390 -------- ( 1 ) ( Ans )

But we can't find how many metres of cotton and silk cloth he can buy , As here some information is missing to solve this

If here is given that total cloth Mohan bought is 20 m , then we can find how many metres of cotton and silk cloth he can buy
from above information we get our second information

x + y = 20 -------------- ( 2 )

Now we multiply by 50 on both hand side ,we get

50x + 50y = 1000

Now we subtract this equation from our first equation , we get

50y = 390

y = 7.8 , Substitute that in equation 2 , we get

x + 7.8 = 20

x = 12.2

So,
we can say
Length of cotton cloth bought = 12.2 m
And
Silk cloth = 7.8 m
