Saraswathi vijayam was a Malyalam novel written by Potheri Kunjambu in 1892. He was 'lower-caste' writer and the novel also depicts caste struggle. The hero of the novel, a young man from an 'untouchable caste', under oppression from his Brahmin landlord, flees his village. He converts to Christianity and becomes highly educated. He takes on the post of a judge in his own village. The novel depicts how in this time the villagers had accused the landlord of killing the young man. In the end, the landlord feels remorse and repents for what the oppression on the hero when he reveals his true identity.

The novel describes the caste struggle at the time, between the upper castes and the 'untouchable'. It shows how with the passing of time it became from one man's struggle to a collective struggle of the entire village against the oppressive upper caste landlord.
