1) James Watt improved the steam engine and patented in 1781.
2) But there were no buyers for many years for the new model manufactured by Mathew Boulton.
3) At the beginning of the nineteenth century, steam engine was used only in cotton industries, wool industries and in mining, canal works and iron works.
4) It was not used in any other industries even till later years of the century.
5) So even the most effective new technology that improved the yield of large number of labourers was slowly accepted by industrialists.
