Question

EXPERTS CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN ME OHM 'S LAW IN BRIEF AND THE FACTORS AFFECTING TH RESISTANCE ALONG WITH THE EQUATION .

Open in App
Solution

Ohm' s law states that the current I flowing through a conductor is directly proportional to the potential difference V across the ends of the conductor, provided physical conditions such as temperature etc. are kept constant.
i.e., V ∝ I or V = RI
or V/I = R = constant, where R is known as resistance of the conductor.
since, resistance is given by R = ρlA, where l and A are the length and area of the conductor respectively.here, ρ is a constant of proportionality known as specific resistance or electrical resistivity which depends upon the nature of material
hence, the factors affecting the resistance in a given conductor depends upon the length, area and electrical resistivity of conductor.
In accordance with Ohm's law , the resistance in a conductor depends upon the current flowing through it.
