Explain how the federal experiment has been successful in the matter of formation of states in India?

The creation of linguistic states has been a successful experiment of federalism. In 1947, the boundaries of old states of India were changed in order to create new states.This experiment was done to ensure that the people who spoke the same language lived in the same state. Some of the states were are Jharkhand, Uttarakhnad, Nagaland, etc. The formation of the states on the basis of the linguistic criteria made the country more united.
