explain nterphase of meiosis?
Interphase or the resting phase is the period prior to cell division when a cell gets ready to undergo division. It is a common stage for both meiosis and mitosis. The genetic material duplicated during this phase. It can be subdivided into following stages:
G1- The cell grows and functions normally with a lot of protein synthesis.
S phase: Duplication of DNA happens for semiconservative replication
G2 phase: Cell resumes its growth phase for division.
