Open in App
Solution

  • India's confirmed oil reserves are about 125 Million metric tonnes
  • Most of these are located on the western coast called the Mumbai High area as well as in the northeastern states
  • Oil fields have also been confirmed in offshore Bay of Bengal and in Rajasthan
  • Oil and Natural Gas Corporation is the largest oil company in the country
  • The oil fields in India do not suffice for the growing demands and India remains a major importer of oils, to cater to its domestic demands
