Forest Cover: It includes land with a tree canopy density of more than 10 % in more than one hectare area (Such lands may or may not be statutorily notified as forest area).
Very Dense Forest: Land with a forest cover with canopy density of 70 per cent and above
Moderately Dense Forest: Land with a forest cover with canopy density of 40 to 70 per cent.
Open Forest: Land with forest cover with canopy density of 10 to 40 per cent.
Mangrove Cover: It is a found mainly in tropical and sub-tropical coastal or inter-tidal regions. It includes mangrove vegetation.
Non Forest Land: Land without any forest cover.
Scrub Cover: All lands, having bushes and small or stunted tree growth with canopy density less than 10 % generally in and around forest areas.
Tree Cover: Land with tree patches outside the recorded forest area.
