Explain the contrast of work between a rural women and in urban women
Women in Rural Areas:
a. Women in rural areas constitute major part of the agricultural workforce.
b. They are largely involved in the agricultural production and cultivation, right from sowing to harvesting.
c., Women are employed under governments schemes like NREGA
d. Women are today active participants of the local governments, particularly after 73rd and 74th constitutional amendment acts which provided for 1/3rd reservation for women.
Women in Urban areas.
a. Due to better employment and educational facilities women are employed and are more career driven in Urban cities and towns.
b. They are employed in organized sectors in professions like Teaching, lawyers, doctors and Corporate's.
c. Large part of women are also employed in unorganized sector, particularly women who have migrated from rural ares and lack necessary skills and qualification, they are employed in small scale units, as casual workers in construction etc.
d. Women are also employed as domestic workers.
