explain the following:

a)when two pins are hung ny their ends from the same pole of a magnet,their pointed ends fly apart.

b)several soft iron pins can be hung one below the other from the pole of the magnet, but they soon fall off when the magnet is removed.

c) the north end of a magnetic needle is attracted towards a piece of small iron placed a little distance away from it.

(a) When two pins are hung their ends from the same pole of a magnet, both pins get magnetised due to presence of magnet and as they are at same pole so their magnetisation would also be same in nature .This is the reason that their pointed ends fly apart.

(b) The magnetisation of material is being significant if the material is present in external magnetic field . As soon as the magnet is removed then magnetisation of pins become zero, that's why the falls off.
(c) As iron is ferromagnetic material and it has magnetic behaviour .So its behave like a permanent magnet.Thus small piece of iron attracts the magnetic middle.
