when the person was in the moving bus, he was moving with the velocity of bus, and when he gets down from the bus on a stationary plane, then his inertia of motion suddenly tends to zero because of which he will experience a sudden retarding force. Now after getting down if he runs some distance in the direction of moving bus then his inertia of motion will not suddenly come to zero and he will not get a jerk.
