Explain the function of a three pin plug and a main switch.

Three pin plug consists of three pins and it is used to connect three wires; live wire, neutral wire and earth wire.These plugs are designed so that mains electricity can be supplied to appliance safely.
Main switch can be considered as a central cut-off switch in a house which affects all the other devices and cut-off switches.Thus it also prevents from fire as if the main switch is put off there will be no power supply in the house.And also all the electrical appliances are connected to the main switch so when there is no power supply in the house all the electrical appliances stops working.
