Question

explain the role of thermous aquatics in gene amplification

Open in App
Solution

Thermus aquaticus is most widely used in the Polymerase Chain Reaction or PCR. The bacterium is originally obtained from hot water springs and hence is highly thermostable. At high temperatures required for PCR where other enzymes would undergo denaturation, Thermus aquaticus provides a stable environment.
