Solution

Chemical change is defined as reaction of two different substance for the formation of new substance i.e. the chemical property of substance changes. Thus, digestion of food and blackening of silverware are process of chemical change.

During the blackening of silverware, silver is combine with sulfur and forms silver sulfide. Silver sulfide is black. When a thin coating of silver sulfide forms on the surface of silver, it darkens the silver. Thus change in property as well as formation of new substance are factors of chemical change.

During the digestion of food some of the substances like protein, fats etc. are taken in the form of food which are converted to glucose in stomach i.e. a new substance with change in its property to provide energy to our body is formed. Thus digestion of food is a chemical change.
