Question

Explain why the rate of photosynthesis lowers both at high and low temperatures than the normal rate of photosynthesis?

Open in App
Solution

The rate of photosynthesis is maximum at optimum temperature which is 30- 40 0C. At lower temperature rate of photosynthesis is low because the enzymes involved in the reaction are less efficient at lower temperature. At higher temperature rate of photosynthesis is low because enzymes get denatured and thus reaction slow down.
