Some of the features of long form of periodic table are:

1. Elements are arranged based on their increasing atomic number.

2. Elements are arranged into 18 groups and 7 rows. Also, they are divided in to 4 blocks: s block, p block, d block and f block elements.

group 1 and 2 are s block elements.

group 13 to 18 are p-block elements.

group 3 to 12 are transition elements or d block elements.

f-block elements: There are two rows of 14 elements each which are placed at the bottom of the periodic table. They are also known as inner transition elements.

Elements in a single period have same principal quantum number,n, of the outer most shell.

3. There is no anomaly in the placement of any element in the periodic table.

4. The position of isotopes of elements are placed together.
