The river Ganga is one of the most polluted water bodies along with several other lakes and ponds. Human activities like washing, cleaning, industrial and domestic wastewater which is directly let into the water sources pollutes the water making it unsuitable for consumption. If pollution is not controlled it will cause a tremendous scarcity of water and diseases due to consumption of polluted water.
