And each side of smaller cubes = 2 cm
So volume of each smaller cube = ${\left(2\right)}^3=8{\mathrm{cm}}^3$
Therefore number of smaller cubes that can be cut = $\frac{\mathrm{Volume}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{cuboid}}{\mathrm{Volume}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{each}\mathrm{smaller}\mathrm{cube}}=\frac{40}{8}=5$
