Question

For a particle going uniform circular motion what type of acceleraation does it posses? for m=non uniform? When does tanential acc comes to play and where it is constant

Open in App
Solution

The linear acceleration and angular acceleration in a uniform circular motion is zero. While there is a centripetal acceleration.
In case of non-uniform circular motion, object moving in a circular path has a varying speed. The tangential acceleration comes into play in the case of non-uniform motion. It is non-zero and the speed is changing. The tangential acceleration is constant if the rate of changing the speed of the object moving in circular motion is constant.
Here, the present forces that act on an object in addition to its centripetal force (composed of the mass and radial acceleration). These forces include weight, normal force, and friction.
