For a person sitting in a fast moving bus , near objects like trees, houses, etc outside the bus appear to move rapidly in a direction opposite to the direction of the bus but
the far objects appear to be stationary explain why?
This is due to the parallax. The angle which the nearby objects subtend at the eye of the person is large and distance is small, so angular change in the positions of the object w.r.t person is large .Therefore the nearby objects appear to move rapidly. But the distance of far objects is very large and angular change in their positions is so small that any change in the position is negligible and they appear to be stationary.
