Chlorine is a non-metal and exists as gas. It finds applications :

• as disinfectant and purifier in hospitals
• in plastics and polymers
• in water purifier
• as a bleaching agent
• in medidines to prevent infections
• in manufacture of many car components such as, nylon for car seat belts, bumpers and mats.
