From a pack of 52 playing cards, all cards whose numbers are multiples of 3 are removed. a card is now drawn in random. What is the probability that the card drawn is

i) A face card (King, Queen or Jack)

Total number of cards in a deck = 52cards which are multiple of three are 3,6,9These cards are removed, so total 3×4 =12 cards are removed.Left cards are 52-12 = 40 cardsface cards in a deck are king ,queen, jack in all four suits.So total number of face cards = 3×4 =121)So the probability of drawing face card is 1240=310ansEven numbered cards in red suit are 2,4,8,10 .So the total number of even numbered red cards are 4×2 =82) So the probability of drawing even numbered red cards =840=15 Ans
