The Western coast is divided into three - Konkan coast, Kannad Plains and Malabar coast. The northern part of the Western Coast (from Mumbai to Goa) is known as the Konkan coast. The central part, from Goa to the north of Kerala is known as Kannad Plains and the southern stretch, from south of Karnataka, is known as Malabar Coast.
