Give reason for the following :

(i) Concave mirror are used in the headlight of vehicles to get powerful beam of light.(ii) Concave mirrors are used in solar furnace to produce heat

As we know if we put a light source at the focus of concave mirror then it's rays after reflection become parallel beam of light. This is why we use the concave mirror as headlight to get power full beam of light.
In the other way if we put put a concave mirror in front of parallel beam of light , it converges at a point called focus and all heat consisting in light accumulated at a point . This the reason to use concave mirror in solar furnace to heat produce.
