Question

give reasons : 1) shockers are used in scooters and cars

2) glass and chinawares are wrapped in strawpieces

Solution

The reason for both is the same, and can be inferred from Newton's Second law. The net force is directly proportional to the rate of change of momentum.

If we reduce the rate of change of momentum, the net force will also reduce.

We do this by increasing the time over which force acts. In cars, we do this by using shock absorbers, which absorb the initial impact of the force and then release it over a period of time so the rate of change of momentum decreases.

Similarly, the straw acts like a shock absorber in case of crockery.
