Give reasons
Mgcl2 is soluble in water but insoluble in acetone, while methane is insoluble in water, but soluble in acetone.
MgCl2 is an ionic and thus polar compound. So, it dissolves in polar water but insoluble in non- polar acetone.
Whereas, methane being non-polar dissolves in a non-polar acetone and is insoluble in polar water.
