Solution

A glucose moleculecontains five −OH groups while a sucrose molecule containseight −OH groups. Thus, glucose and sucrose undergo extensiveH-bonding with water.

Hence, these aresoluble in water.

But cyclohexane andbenzene do not contain −OH groups. Hence, they cannot undergoH-bonding with water and as a result, are insoluble in water.
