Open in App
Solution

Cost price = Rs.800

The cost of 3/4th of rice = 3/4 *800=Rs. 600

10% of it = Rs.60

Its selling price = Cost price-loss=600-60=Rs.540 ...(1)

The cost of remaining rice = 800-600=Rs. 200

10% of it = Rs. 10

Its selling price = Cost price+gain = 200+20=220 ...(2)

From (1) and (2),

Total selling price = 540+220=Rs. 760

Total Loss = Cost price-Selling price=800-760=Rs.40
