Question

HCl solution conducts current but glucose solution does not. Give reason.

Open in App
Solution

HCl in water dissociate to form H+ and Cl- ions whereas in case of glucose solution, glucose do not dissociate and hence it does not released any ions in the solution.
As we known conductivity is mainly govern by free electrons or ions therefore glucose (which does not contains any ions) does not conduct electricity.
