A cylinder and a prism are both three dimensional objects. A cylinder and a prism have identical and parallel top and bottom (A cylinder has identical and parallel circular top and bottom where as a prism has identical and parallel polygons). This is how a cylinder and a prism are alike.

A cone and a pyramid are both three dimensional objects. A cone and a pyramid have one vertex each (The base of the cone is a circle where as the base of a pyramid is polygon). This is how a cone and a pyramid are alike.
