Open in App
Solution

1) Resources are classified on the basis of development and use as
(i) Potential resources and
(ii) Actual resources.
2) Those resources, whose quantities are known, fully nurtured and are being used in the present are called actual resources. E.g. the dark soils of the Deccan plateau in Maharashtra, coal mine in Neyveli are actual resources.
3) Potential resources are those resources whose entire quantity are not known and are not being used now. The amount of technology may not be superior to use these resources now. E.g. uranium in Ladakh may be used in future.
