Question

HOW ARE SOIL NUTRIENTS REPLENISHED BY PLANTS ?

Open in App
Solution

  • Soil nutrients can be replenished by applying manures, compost & fertilizer in field, recycling nutrients mainly by animal waste and through microbial action such as nitrogen fixation.
  • Fields, in which leguminous plants are grown from time to time, do not need addition of nitrogenous fertilizers.
  • Nitrogen fixation replenishes nitrogenous nutrients in the soil. The decomposition of dead remains of plants and animals, farm waste replenish the nutrients of the soil.
