How are working conditions for women in unorganised sector different from those in the organized sector ? Explain.

Since unorganized sector is not registered under the government it does not adhere to government rules and regulations.

a. Women in the unorganized sector have to work for long hours with no fixed wages, they are not given any special allowances and are not entitled to any medical benefits. They are poorly paid and do not have any job security.

b. Whereas in the organized sector since it is registered it is regulated by government and this sector follow government rules.

c. Women their have fixed hours of work and minimum wages which is pre determined by the government. Women are entitled to all medical benefits including maternity leave. They have paid holidays and enjoy job security. Workers are given proper appointment letter at the time of joining which includes terms and conditions of work.They are entitled to other benefits like provident fund, gratuity etc.

d. Women involved in organised sectors have and can avail full maternity benefits such as leave with pay, such a facility is not available in the unorganised sector.

e. Apart from that women in unorganised sector become vulnerable and easy victims of sexual violence, exploitation by the employer. In organised sector, these things are regulated by company's laws, policies, by government laws which takes serious cognizance of such incidents.
