Brain is divided into 3 main divisions. They are forebrain, mid brain and hind brain.
Forebrain is the main thinking part of the brain. It consists of the cerebrum, thalamus, and hypothalamus.
The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain. The forebrain has sensory regions, and motor regions. The sensory regions receive sensory impulses from various receptors. The motor regions are associated with control of the movement of various muscles. There are separate areas in the forebrain specialised for different functions such as hearing, smelling, seeing, sensations such as pain, touch, taste, etc. A part of the cerebrum also functions and controls intelligence, learning, memory, thinking, and the ability to speech.
