How can a virtual image be photographe but not a real image?

A virtual image can never be photographed. The one thing you do is to create a real image of a virtual image and then photograph. This is the same thing when you stand in front of a mirror and take a photograph. This is photographing the secondary image (image of a image) of the real object.
