Question

how can electrons exist in free state in a conductor?

Open in App
Solution

Most of the conductors are metals.

Valence electrons of metals are loosely bounded to the nucleus i.e.. the nucleus do not attract the valence electrons so strongly.

In presence of electric field these electrons are free to move.
