Question

how can rain water be effectively used for irrigation?

Open in App
Solution

Rain water can be harvested and stored in tanks ( reservoirs) whether underground or at the ground level for future use such as irrigation. Depending upon the mode of storing rain water, the mode of delivering water to the field for irrigation varies. Rain water stored in tanks can be delivered through canals. Canals are man-made water channel systems, which are used to deliver adequate water to the fields.Water pumps can also be used to deliver stored rain water effectively to the fields.
